I'm a recent 308 owner (three days) and want to say first you have an awesome post and really enjoyed reading your restoration process. I wanted to know if I could pick your brain about the interior...

The car I purchased is in great shape but the switches, buttons, emblems definitely shows their age and was wondering if and/or how you got your switches to match the craftsmanship you put into the rest of your car?

    thanks,

    Steve

Well thank you very much for the nice comments! I had the luxury of having a car in pretty decent condition to start with, and I wish I had some "magic" to share with you, but nothing special.

A couple of things though, if you buy a good paint compounding agent and work it into your part fairly intensively and follow with a polishing compound you can really do wonders. Just a lot of elbow grease frankly. I used the 3M products but there are many others out there. I did this on my taillights and "little horsey emblem" for example and you can bring some life back. Using a 2000 grit sandpaper helps on the initial compounding.

Best of luck with your new car!
