Which track-day Ferrari?

  1. "Le Mans" style prototype, 360CS engine and gearbox.

  2. "Formula" single-seater, motorcycle engine (v-8).

I was thinking about the fact that Enzo lived for the racing and despised (maybe too harsh of a word) street cars, merely tolerateing them as means to finance the racing team.

With many boutique companies offering track ready cars (Radical, Palmer, Ariel etc) I wonder why Ferrari has not attempted to bridge the gap between street and track. To instill the sense of passion for racing in the general public.

I have a dream... Of ferrari offering a relatevly affordable "track only" model. Preferably with some links to F1 technology, some racing tech "hand-me downs"

    Two options.

    1. A two seater "Le Mans" style two-seater prototype with a 360CS engine.

    2. A single seat "Formula" car with a V-8 made from joing at the hip two MV Agusta I-4's that they helped develop.

There would be a number of regional racing series, strictly for amatures. The price would hover between 80-100K USD.

I was just watching a Top Gear re-run and they were testing all those track cars. The JP2 (Jaguar-Palmer) was the most extreme, and incredibly... Road Legal.

You've not got your marketing head on ... ie. For the Masses ...

Ferrari don't give a flying fnck about the masses, they on purpose market above that level to create a demand for their products.

It's all about lusting after what most cannot have!

By the masses I meant wealthy ferrari enthusiasts. How many peopel can afford a 100K track only car.
I mean look at the Enzo FXX program, kinda similiar, but WAY too expensive.

Was there not the 333SP of the early 90s? are you thinking along those lines? that would be a damn expensive car, but one of the ultimate machines

A Ferrari isn't a Ferrari without a Ferrari engine, therefore I voted for option 1.

The engine in the MV Agusta was designed with Ferrari's help. Hence the name of the bike MV F(errari)4(cilinder)1000(cc's).

Well I was thinking about something more affordable, something for a track day at your local erm track, not a factory effort at LeMans.
