I am looking for wheel spinners (the kind with dog ears) and center rings for 84 512BBi wheels. Also looking for a source for the original style tires for the car. The car has a couple light dings in both of the aluminum black air covers that are on top of the bonnet. Do I have a dent removal specialist work on that?
Lastly any suggestions on a good body shop and mechanical shop that specializes in Ferrari automobiles close to the Chicago area (aside from the Ferrari dealers near Chicago) ? Thanks for your help.

I have seen the spinners, maybe repros, at shows like Cavallino and The Quail. I do not remember the vendor's name, from California, somebody know the name?

    Tires come from Coker.

Find a good body shop to repair the air boxes along with the body. Check here on FChat for Mark's Boxer resto mod thread, he would know of a good body shop in your area.

paintless dent removal is the way to go if they can't get all of them out use the body shop as a last resort, much better than using filler and a spot repair

search the archives concerning the knock offs, you can get them direct from Italy much cheaper

What market/country was your car originally made for? All Boxers did not come with the winged wheel nuts...some came with the octagon nuts depending on the market. If you will look at the Boxer parts book it will list which market came with the octagon nuts and which came with the winged nuts...

I have an extra set of boxer three-eared spinners in a box somewhere in the garage. They are in good shape, have been wacked a few times with a lead hammer, but don't need to be re-chromed.

$1200 for the four, plus shipping. Want me to go find them and post a picture?

    Geno,
PS: I see new ones are $375 each, so I'll reduce my set to $1000.- for you.
Chrome rings can be obtained from Ferrari Parts Exchange listed above.

explain the "new ones". I need a right side spinner because the chome has peeled slightly at the corner of an ear from the mallet. Makes cool paper weight.

Ferrari Parts Exchange appears to have new spinners or at least perfect looking spinners. If not, then Geno is getting a good deal from me...

Why not have the spinner replated? Yea, the horse and directional arrow get blurred if the chrome guy is heavy-handed, but it's cheap compaired to a new spinner.

The horse looking like a giraffe is my concern after chroming, I would sooner use mine old one as a desk top trinket and get a new or nice one rather than deface one.

Do we know if Ferrari Parts Exchange is selling new originals or after market for the $375 each?

If your chrome shop is careful, they can avoid any heavy polishing of the horse area and you won't have a distorted horse. That only will happen with a heavy handed polisher. But if you buy used spinners and then want high quality chrome, be prepared to spend a lot for the chrome. You could easily exceed the cost of new ones with the purchase price added to chrome plating. I would only buy used spinners if they were near perfect or very inexpensive to start with, so you could afford the chrome plating cost.
