Oh wait and see my friends. This event was sick! I showed up with Jason Thorgalsen in the early monring. Got shoots of all the cars showing up. We took hundreds of photos. However my memory card was fried about an hour later and lost everything! I was so pissed. Jason got some sick sick photos. However he went on the drive with Bob Wallach in his Ferrari 599 GTB to Washington D.C. and is taking a train back to NY tomorrow for an event and getting in at 4AM! This kid is nuts and will not miss any oppurtunities to drive in great cars.

The lot for the event this morning was super packed. Probably around 8 599GTB, 30 F430 Coupes and Spiders, lots of Stradale, a few 612, 2 Enzo's, our own "Notoboy" 355 Spider was looked absolutely stunning, Peter and Peter with the Black/Black 575, the yellow NSX was the best parking spot infront of the tavern on the green, SEAHAWK in his BMW and ps he is an amazing driver, F430 with strobes to act as the pace car and so much more. I am sure Kiernan and hopefully some others will share a few photos from the historic gathering to support Ferrari's 60th Anniversary. Jason I am sure will give you some good shoots.

Eric, your son is the man and I see why all us car enthusiats like the little man. He dresses like a cool dude, loves having dogs jump all over him and touching everything!

    Good seeing everyone today

Yeah, I filled my memory card up. I was so pissed though! As the first Enzo is rolling out, the memory says its full! So I delete some pics to prep for the next one...and it turns out there were to many picture opportunities in between, ANOTHER ENZO GONE. So I completely missed both Enzo's leaving, but I have video of them.

I'm just going to sort my pics, and Tom (the kid with me) is going to send me his and I'll put them up.

    Great day today guys!

Just got back from the Rally... DAMN! That was a great time.

Chris over at Central Jersey got me an invite and the event was fantastic. A great group. A wonderful drive. A very cool party... and some stunning Ferraris.

Personally, I loved the event. When I lived in DC, we used to go trick-or-treating on Embassy Row on Halloween. (Most embassies gave out pretty killer Halloween swag). Never in a million years would I thought I'd get an invite to rock down in my Ferrari for a party. How times change...

ANYWAY, mad props to Ferrari of Central New Jersey for making this trip happen for me. I've got 1 or 2 cars and it's amazing to me how hard Central Jersey works to make Ferrari ownership unlike anything else.

Photos are available on my Flickr. And if anyone else wants to upload, make sure you use the right tag!

PS: Jason! Where's that good pick of my F430 coming down Central Park West? :)

Thanks Evan. Jack is certainly a huge car enthusiast (for an almost 3 year old) but his first love is animals. He will ignore everything around him to pet a dog, cat, etc...especially given the fact that his "big brother" is a golden retreiver named Bentley. :)

Good seeing you on both Sat & Sun for two great events. No better way to spend a weekend...family, friends and fine machinery.

    See you soon.

It was an unforgettable afternoon - simply AWESOME!!! The whole afternoon was one picture opportunity after another, but who had time to take pictures when you're having too much fun driving :D I took at least 1GB of pictures but only a handful or two came out (see them on Emil's link). I can't wait to see Jason's pics...

Chris, Emil, Michael, JohnH, Chip, Silvano, and others - What a great pack to drive with - we had a lot of fun! It wasn't even as much fast as fun, seeing Ferraris for as far as the eye can see in Times Square, in the Linclon tunnel, and then in Washington DC - so cool!

You know it was a good weekend when it inspires me to join my first chat site. I only fear that I have permanently alterned my son's perception of reality. He will be disappointed when we go to an event and there isn't $30 million worth of automobile in the parking lot.

The drive was great and the event at the Embassy refined, but the chance to meet you guys was priceless.

I look forward to staying in touch with Bob, David, Steve, Joe, Michael, and more.

There should be a photo of my boy and his dream car attached.

    Hey Chip,

    John,
It's probably hard to call those VGA camera phone images, "pictures." Sorry I didn't have my real camera that day.

Here is the new ride....The work was completed today. Any tips on the best way to ship it from California?

    Thanks!

    Chip!

Welcome to the board. For transport, the first thing you need to ask is:

How soon do I need the car?

I've shipped cars across these-here United States frequently over the last 3 years. I pay (on average) $1400 depending on how fast I need something. When we did the Bullrun last summer, the Gallardo got to NY in 3 days. When I shipped my 355 to LA, it got there in 2 weeks. The Gallardo trip exceeded $2,000. The 355... was closer to $800.

I recommend calling Dealer to Dealer Auto Transport in Texas. They broker vehicle transporters. The tack on a small "management fee" but provide a wide range of pricing/timing options. Plus they're FULLY covered from an Insurance perspective.

+1-888-222-2065 Tell them Emil referred you to them. One suggestion is that you request to talk to the driver after they've pickled up the car. On a recent transport, I did not have time to talk to the driver and a few things were "awry" with the car when it arrived. Nothing major, and things that I should have told the driver (like "please don't disconnect the battery while in transit"). But that spot of personal interaction can make the difference between an ok transport and a flawless transport.

Also, I'd recommend having the car dropped directly at Detailing Dynamics. It won't arrive clean! (Yes, even with enclosed transporters)

Horseless and Intercity Lines are good. But not always the fastest or the cheapest.

    David and Emil,
Thanks for the transport tips. I will be making arrangments tomorrow. Let you know how it goes. Since I have no excuse to rush delivery, I'll probably look for the best rates.

Lovin' the photos from the 60th.
