While walking through an antique store I stumbled across these Tonka's in a display case. Of all places an antique store? This these were all they had. The GTO is 1:18 and the 308 is 1:25. All of my other models are Maisto or Hotwheels 1:18 scale so these Tonka's kind of stick out.

Nice find. Is there a date of manufacture stamped anywhere on the box or models? I am curious as to how old they are. :)

I used to have the GTO when I was a kid. I think you made a typo: it's 1/16 scale. So yeah, it does stick out in a 1/18 scale collection. :)

Too bad there's still no really good model of the GTO in 1/18 scale.

The GTO must have been somewhere around 1985. It was released quite close to the introduction of the real thing.

You are right, it is a 1:16 scale on the GTO. I can't find any date it was made anywhere on the box? Im guessing these were made for the Italy Market since the majority of the writing is Itialian? I'm not sure if I will keep them or not. Ive been trying to find a 1:18 scale 308 by Hotwheels or Maisto. PM me if someone has one.

The box also names the F40, so at least this example was produced after 1987.

Driving home from visiting family for xmas I decided to stop at the same antique mall I stopped at Thanksgiving and found the 308 and GTO.. Low and behold there were two more that I must have missed last month. One is a 348 the other is a Diablo. Im not a big Lambo collector but at $11 I couldnt pass it up. I guess this place will be a regular stop when I travel.
