but it would just be so cool to have one of these, without the maintenance costs of a real one, and no body would know any different?

and for that matter, im sure it would be easy to sell once youve had enough of it.

Is that the donut king car?
They have two pink ones, one real, one kit.

    hahaha....... good one looney.

actually most of the lambo owners told me their cars are bullet proof.

from the description, the 28k is only for a body and a chassis, add another 10k or so for a complete rolling chassis, by the time the whole project finishes, you'll be looking at 120k at the least.

i could think of a lot of nice cars for that money...

    and it looks kinda odd..

Yep, the one in Targa was the Donut King one. Didn't know they had a real one. Shame they don't enter the real one instead of the pretend one that couldn't pull the cream off a rice custard.

some people just dont understand that you get what you pay for.

I admit i am all for the cappuccino strip cruising, but in a replica has to be the most pretentious thing ever.

All AC Cobra's you see on the road are replicas and there's nothing wrong with that IMO. That kit car, with a chev C5R motor, suitable transaxle, brakes and suspension would be positively wicked. It would also cost a touch more than 30K to build though...

agreed, this was actually discussed in a previous thread about replicas (im not going to bother looking for it), however it seemed widely agree'd that there are some replica's that are acceptable of which

    Cobra,
    GT40
    Lotus 7

were some which are considered to be good enough not to be embarasing.

Yes I think we all agreed that built from scratch kits are better than built on a MR2.

Also I couldnt find the 2 donuts pic :(

heh i noticed that one there too when i was checking out the Jalpa.

beating a dead-horse but yes, those are (or should be) 'replicas'. the other pieces of shit which are based on some other car trying to look like something they're not should be burned.

please, call them bodykits or something, a replica can be a good thing.
