OK, I know this is a long shot but I thought I'd give a shout out here. I'm looking for a SARD part for my MR2 Turbo, here in the U.S. they're a pain to get hold of. I'm wondering if any fellow Japanese Ferrari Chatters might be able to point me in the right direction to eliminate some of the middle men.

In case you're wondering it's the SARD high-flow Catalytic Converter. It comes in a full downpipe or direct replacement for the stock CAT.

I was in Japan back in 2004 for the GP but didn't get to do any parts shopping. If I were to go back I certainly would now.

Hello Senna21: Although I am not well versed w/ such exotics like SARD, etc., I can ask my shop who's got ample knowledge and connections to lead you in the right direction, maybe ? Feel free to use me. It would help to have exact specs, model #s, and so forth. w/ smiles Jimmy

Hello D: By R8, I presume you're referring to Audi R8 ? There's enough high end cars floating around for sale and it should not be a problem to locate one. My car shop friend can locate virtually any car desired thru dealers' auction house or thru connections. He is totally reliable, knowledgeable, and fair. How serious are you ? I do not mind checking out for you since it is my time spent, but I do not like to waste others' if your request is simply curiosity. w/ smiles Jimmy PS. Although I have not seen yet, my brother-in-law bought R8 (new) early this year.

Just for your info, you can only buy left hand drive R8's in Japan! How stupid is that!

I have extensively driven both left and right hand drive cars, the RIGHT hand drive is the better, more leg room - which is surprising because usually the lefty has more space.

I wrote to a very senior contact at Audi and complained about not being able to buy RHD - its the only car my wife has actually asked me to buy her but she doesn't want LHD - although to date she has never owned RHD!
