Lets see, today I practiced... slow flight, power off stall, power on stall, crosswind landings, go arounds, and short field take off... hmm, there was something else I practiced without intending, but what was it, ohh yeah, engine out! I guess a first for everything and it was only a second and nothing critical, but got my attention. On run-up the drop from 1800 to idle went to 520 and a little rough, but didn't stall. I took mental note, but in my experience if it doesn't stall on run up, then it usually idles higher in flight. Out to practice area I went up to about 3K AGL and did slow flight awhile, I then did some turning power off stalls. On the third one I pulled power all the way back and I was keeping the nose up awhile trying to get the stall (not wanting to stall with 30 degrees). Well, started shaking a little and thought it was just the stall coming on, but the stall was coming on about same time engine was going out. Happened so quickly and didn't have time to make sense of it until later, but once I nosed back over recovering from the stall and speed picked up the windmill caught the engine again. All my landings at Alliance and Northwest I kept throttle from full back. However, last landing to full stop I pulled power after touchdown and plane started shaking again, at first I thought a front wheel shimmy, but figured out otherwise as it went completely off now and momentum carried me off runway onto taxiway silent. Ohh what fun! I know not a huge deal, pilots of old shut the engine off on downwind or even up in the air to practice restarts. At this time in my experience I have no desire to do the same.
