After several calls to CC and not having any responce back from them yesterday I have come to a discision. I have told Tom over @ FOLI to go ahead make all the necessary repairs on my car. I really feel that they didn't do right to me after I had dropped the car off to them to have a 355 horn installed and have some minorwork done to the car. The installation of the horn had caused an electrical problem to the car and caused me to shutdown on Saturday in the Hamptons. I feel that if CC wanted to have this problem resolved they would have done the right thing, by having my car towed over to them and had all problems repaired and resolved. The other problem with them is that time not a concern to them and that they should understand that we are in the middle of the summer and this is the time that our cars have the most use and they really don't seem to understand the problem with this. Please let me know if I made the right DISCISION?

    Rene,

i have always used FLI for most of my services . they might be a little higher in price but at least their work is guranteed and never had a problem with them.

FYI, i had put in three calls to CC about a month ago inquiring about a four point harness seatbelt for my stradale and they never got back to me!

I understand your situation. It is totally up to you. I know that CC is a pain with time but it is just something that I feel they make up by their kindness. I feel better knowing how they work on my car verses FOLI or WWOC. Now I would use them all the time but if something needes to be done by a certian time, I would use someone else in the situation.

Rene, it is a tough decision to make being that you and the rest of the crew have a lot of history with CC. What it comes down to is customer service and if you don't feel that you're getting it, it's time to move on. As you know well and good, business is business and while I know that you all have personal ties to CC, as an "outsider" I have personally heard quite a few negative stories lately about what has been going on there. When I visited CC for the first time I was amazed by the sheer number of cars there. I couldn't believe that they could possibly work on all of the cars and have them done properly in a timely fashion. In their defense, the summer time is when EVERYONE wants work done and there are only so many mechanics to do it. However, even with this being the case you need to set expectations and do the work that you do CORRECTLY. That is the issue here and also with other crew members on this board. The guys at CC seem very nice and willing to work with every one of us...but if you feel that you are not getting the attention you deserve (others of you know what I'm talking about), then do what you have to do and move on for now. That's my .02 on the situation...

My take: I have not used CC yet. But having used WWoC and several independants, I'm hoping CC performs better. I've encounterd the situations you mentioned above with all mechanics at one time or another. Re-read the archives from this forum as well as other Ferrari Forums. Same problems, different vendors. It's the situation of their priorities and your priorities not quite meshing. And unfortunately, such problems arise. I'm sorry to hear you weren't able to iron them out. I hope FoLI does better for you.

I certanily see a Run-out-to-FoLI-to-Pick-Up-NayNay's car in the foreseeable future!

Let me get into this alittle more this all started two weeks ago when i took my car in for some minor work work like they told me that my timing was of on the car and thats why my car was over heating. Which i ended up getting into a fight with wwoc. when the car was taken to CC for this to be fixed they never even checked nor fixed that problem. at the same time i told them to do other little work. I seriously expected the car back by the end of the week but when i went to pick it up all the work was not done. I had to again drop the car off on tuesday. This time i specificly told them i need the car back with all the work complete by friday for the run out to the Hamptons. When I went to pick the car up on friday. they still had not completed all the work, and not to mention my CD player which I never had any problems with was not working. As I left CC and was driving all of a sudden the 355 horn that they placed in the car had stopped working. Right when I got home I was about 200 Ft away from my apt in manhattan a cab cut me off and riped my front bumper off the car i tried to honk my horn but the fvcken thing wasn't work so i was unable to avoid an accident. then on saturdayme and the guys wire tied the front bumper and i was able to do the drive to the hamptons . on the way out their right at the end of route 27 my whole instrument cluster had all emergency lights on and that was when i told Noah thats it were done. Thank god for FOLI, Gianni definatly has a brain and he had a flatbed out their. He picked my car up and took it back to his shop. Where now it is getting fixed.

I don't know all the details about this particular situation but perosonally I have had work done at CC for many years and everytime they have gone above and beyond my expectations in every instance. I will not deny that unlike a Mercedes or BMW shop their turn-around time is not instantanous but than again they are working on a Ferrari in which i require a high level of perfection and very personalized attention. This being the case i don't think we should come down hard upon CC for not being able to have cars ready in an unreasonable amount of time given the individual work order, because as well all know perfection does take time. This being said i would rather have my car a week later than let anyone other than CC work on it.

    Rehan

P.S. I will not make any comments on the other dealership because i have only had contact with their sales dept and never had any service related work done there.

I'm not trying to come down hard on them, i'm just alittle upset with all the running around for those of you who don't know i have a rather large construction company and it requires alot of attention and i work rather hard and i like to play hard this is why i'm upset i expected alittle more from them and i felt that they didn't give it to me.

    Rene,

You need to feel good about spending money. If you do not feel good about working with Classic Coach, for WHATEVER reason, then don't use them. It sucks that you feel this way. It's aggravating when your ride is down and not repaired on time. It's a major headache when something goes wrong from a shop's error/negligence/accident.

Go where you feel good. For whatever reason.

    Emil
