Not a lot to do in Abilene on the weekends so I was out driving around and happened to spot this hot air balloon. When it started getting close I thought they were gonna get caught up in the trees and power lines but I saw them fire the burners and it popped right up with plenty of room to spare. Their chase truck showed up just before they touched down and a bunch of guys bailed out and ran to the landing field. Looks like it might be kinda fun and I might have to try it out one of these days....

Mark, on my 60th birthday I was presented with a certificate for a balloon ride. It is a great way to get away and above the madding crowd. The silence and the view is marvelous but the best of all was the show-off pilot who dropped the craft down into the Samamish Slough in the valley and dragged the basket along barely touching the surface of the water which was calm and smooth then fired things back up and climbed to 800 feet and drifted over to his landing in a parking lot in the town of Woodinville. An absolute kick ! DO IT !!

Ballooning is a blast under the right circumstances! I've had two opportunities to ride along, one in Dallas several years ago, and the other in Sweden. Its an amazing experience no one should pass on!
