    Hi everyone,

It has been a while since I've been on ferrarichat, but I thought I would post some images of a weekend car fest I attended in Auckland, New Zealand, in mid February.
I was fortunate enough to have been picked up from the airport in the silver Anniversary Countach, and later visited a couple of dealerships where various cars were on display. I also went to the show in the Jarama S.
In total, there were seven Lamborghinis on the club stand, plus two new Gallardos on the dealership's stand, which is not bad for the population of New Zealand.
As it was, it was the best display of classic Lambos assembled so far in this country of only 4.5 million and if the numbers of cars were to be extrapolated out to an equivilant population base for say, the UK, then the number of cars attending would be in the region of 100, if it were Germany, then the equivalent number of cars attending would have been about 130, and if the USA, then it would have been almost 500 cars, so I don't think we did too badly:)
We could have in fact had even more Lambos on display, as more were available, but the show's organisers could only give us so much space, and there was an Aventador promised as well, but it failed to show, which was a real disappointment.
Apart from inclement weather at times, the day was a real success and the Lambo stand took third prize overall for its stand.
Most of the pictures I've posted were taken before the gates to the show opened, hence the lack of people, because once the crowds arrived it was very difficult to get clear shots.
BTW, the guy wearing the idiot grin in the last picture is me:)
I hope you enjoy the pictures.

    Love the classic Miura.
But does anyone else hate stripes on a lambo? Seem better placed on a Ferrari.

Very nice and thanks for sharing. Tony's Miura looks a lot nicer than when it left California! And that must be the ex-Peter Hay Anniversary? Interesting 'smooth' door panels...

Theres a bunch of not quite right about that Gallardo...

The plate says "Gallardo LP560-4 Bicolore"... well, they got the "Gallardo" part right...

Bicolores are LP550-2's, not LP560-4's... Bicolores are two colors, body color with a black roof and rear deck... it's painted like an LP550-2 Monochrome, with the body color splitter between the front vents, but like the Bicolores, the Monochromes don't come in LP560-4 flavor... it looks identical to an LP550-2 Tricolore, Lamborghini's tribute to Italy's 150th anniversary of the unification, except the stripe is on the wrong side of the car (see edit), I don't see the seat stripe and... you guessed it, Tricolores were LP550-2's, not LP560-4's...

I'm gonna guess that this car is an LP550-2 Monochrome, with an added stripe, or an LP560-4 painted to look like a Monochrome, with the stripe.

Edit: Right Hand Drive country, so the stripe is on the correct side, I think... it is possible it's an LP550-2 Tricolore. Too many Gallardo special editions? Yeah, didn't even have to mention the Balboni, the LP570-4 Superleggera, the LP570-4 Blancpain Edition, or the LP570-4 Super Tropheo Stradale, or the Black Edition (not the Nera)...

It is confusing because they don't have them in the US.

"The Gallardo LP 560-4 Bicolore, a Special Edition supersports car which will be produced for the European and Asian-Pacific markets, while for the American market it will be only available in the version LP 550-2"

Here's what Lamborghini Auckland has on it

That is indeed a Bicolore, but looks nothing like the car in the posted picture, which is identical to an LP550-2 Tricolore...

I think you're right, I think it is a mislabeled Tricolore as well.

I am privately informed that this is not Peter's former car and yes, I do remember, his was wingless.

    That's hilarious!

I have to agree, it's been way too confusing about the variations of the Gallardo for a long time.

The Diablo had at least 17 factory variations, counting racers, and some, such as the Monterey were US market only, so swings and roundabouts for market specific variations, but I've lost count of the derivations of the Gallardo.

On the day of the event I was introduced to yet another when I saw the Noctis version for the first time. I thought it looked okay as far as a colour scheme went, but inwardly I groaned as I thought 'Yet another marketing trick.', rather than something genuinely new.

Here's some more of the Gallardos in order to help clarify, or add to, the confusion! You may note, however, that the info plaque on the Tricolour is different on the back than it is on the front, so there was clearly a labelling error there.

Me, I prefer anything from 1978 and back. The modern cars are great, but, with a few exceptions, give me a classic 'old' Lambo any day of the week.
