I went for a drive with my cousin today. We re having a beautiful weekend here in New ENgland for once, so we took advantage. He was on a motorcycle and I was in the f355. He needed to stop for gas, so I parked my car at the station and I walked over to talk to him while he was filling up. While he was filling, two gentlemen pulled up and parked next to my car. As they got out, one says to the other,"what is that, a mustang?" The other guy went over closer to examine my car. He took a look at the prancing horse on the rear and said, "yea, its a mustang."

    :D :D

Just wanted to share my story.

I've had that same comment on mine. I guess its easier to just say "yes" than go into any further details.

Luca and I were out in the 348 today and we got the "what kind of car is that?" comment from some folks at the tailor. Happily, the little guy was wearing his F1 shirt with a big "Ferrari" written on it, so they quickly figured it out.

BTW, its a beyotch to store freshly tailored clothes in a 348.

Many people are just clueless... when I had my 1961 Impala, everybody would ask if it was "a '57 Chevy."

They also always had a story about how their brother's cousin's uncle had a car just like that... only it was a 4-door.... and his was a '67.... oh, and I think his was a Chrysler.... Yeah, just like mine! =-)

Within minutes of receiving my car, I went to fill 'er up and an old gentleman walked up to me, saw the prancing horse on the rear grille and told me that was the prettiest Stang he had ever seen. I told him I love muscle cars and take real good care of my Mustang. It's fun to play along. Plus, he was like 80-going on a 100.

Too funny. Not many 'Stangs in Hong Kong so I have not had the pleasure of that experience. No Pontiacs here either so my GTO is not likely to be mistaken...

My 348 Spider was delivered to me in a container yard, as we were pushing it out of the container a few East European drivers were watching this going on. As I started it up one of the drivers came over and asked me if it was a Mustang because of the horse on the rear grille. I said no its a Ferrari..!! The same problem wherever you live. :)

    Regards,
    Phil.

It's a right of passage thing. You need it to be told to at least once for good luck.

I remember when I was real young, didn't know much about cars and my neighbor had a red Porsche 944. When he brought it home I thought it was a Ferrari. :( I asked him then he said "no it's a Porsche" needless to say I felt like an idiot.
