a new dino on the market

That's a scary story. I use to defend used car dealerships on Ford Explorer roll over cases in several states and after your story I am not sure if I would buy limited run tires if the QC is not there.

 

Does Longstone also get XWXs from Coker? I understood that Michelin actually made them?

I recently bought Michelin TB5s (the 70s competition tire) from Longstone - no, not to fit on the Dono (which has XWXs). Good service and the cost by air to Manila, where I live, was not too bad either,

Never heard this before.
Any vibration could be detected on the balancing maching leaving suspension setup (toe in, caster, camber) the usual suspects. When was your last alignment done?

The alignment and suspension was checked on my first visit to Custom Alignment and found to be good. The initial balancing of the tires when I first put them on the car was done on a standard wheel balancer by a different tire shop, which does not rule out all causes of vibration such as out of round or concentricity problems.

A freind of mine here in the UK who is a large idependant tyre wholesaler tells me that Longstone owns the XWX moulds, but there was probably more than one set originally. BTW do these moulds ware out eventually?

I had not heard either of those numbers!!!

Certainly exciting results, if true. But I'm sure neither of those cars were your average everyday Dino.

Geez, I just convinced my insurance company to get to $125K, guess we'll be re-working that number next spring.
