    Could this be a non-hybrid 296? The prototype clearly lacks the hybrid test vehicle stickers, and sounds like it has a real reverse gear which I assumed the 296 lacked and used the electric motor like the SF90.

    The 296 has a reverse gear, as its electric motor is attached to the gearbox.

    My guess is a mule to test a non-hybrid powertrain for the challenge car.

    I’d love to see a non-hybrid with a gated manual, but I’m sure that’s a pipe dream…
