FDR was seriously flawed as a person, but pulled the USA, kicking and screaming, back into the international arena. Truman? In my mind, a top ten performer out of the 45 presidents we had to date. Take an hour and look a little closer at Lyndon Johnson. I think he gets a bad rep. Texas guy who grew up in the heart of segregation who grabbed the bull by the horns and carried on with Kennedy's programs, and added many more to boot, after Kennedy was assassinated. He was a character, and in some ways pretty rough around the edges, but he knew how to work the political system and did more to change the USA than people give him credit for. Likewise, if Nixon hadn't been quite so damn paranoid, the guy could do some foreign policy. Domestically, obviously, he wasn't so strong, but he understood foreign policy and reopened the door to China. Jimmy Carter? UGH, now he was a bad choice right out the gate. But Happy the Clown could have beaten Gerald Ford after the Nixon debacle. Reagan? Great speeches, and knocked the crap out of the USSR by spending them into submission. Slept through most of his second term as president. I could go on but I won't. None were perfect, but most had at least some successes while in office. D
Ha....there's a new line of thought that LBJ KILLED JFK.....he was pretty ruthless in the back room. He hated both the Kennedy brothers...
Kind of an absurd notion. Then he had Oswald killed to cover it up. Then made sure Ruby died shortly thereafter? Nah, he wasn't that smart. And Dale? No such thing as a thread killer in the Aussie section. D
No it's ok. We've already established thanks to the moral authorities that a Nazi is anyone who doesn't hate Trump, so we can leave that behind and carry on. They also like a particular type of pizza, apparently. Correct.

What a dead set idiot http://www.9news.com.au/world/2017/08/24/14/22/cia-wants-to-buy-twitter-kick-trump-off
It was some random book in the Clearance Section, at Half Price....Dallas businessmen backing LBJ basically....the mafia, the Cubans...every one had a good reason!!! LOL! I did not buy it...was looking for Civil War history before BLM tore all our statues down!!
Dallas underworld in those days was a dangerous place to live! Listen to Ray Wylie Hubbard's "Mother Blues"...(although based upon the scene twenty years later)
Well, she was outed in a peculiar way..reason to be mad at politicians certainly. She was a "working girl".....well not THAT kind, but you get my drift!!
Anyone who contributes money to that is a total moron, and / or is using someone else's money. Actually that's the very definition of a lefty, so it should go well.
Buy the Bruce Catton books. There's not much better for Civil War History, battle by battle. Shelby Foote is right there too. I wish I'd known your interest, I sold an extensive collection of Civil War books including "Lincoln the seven volume set" and Grant's Autobiography a few years ago. (Pop was an American History Major at Swarthmore) Most of the Catton books can be found on the discount racks these days. "A Stillness at Appomattox" and "This Hallowed Ground" are really excellent.
