I used Zaino car care products for years on my black 911 after a friend suggested I try it it so yesterday, after receiving my order from Zaino in two days here at the marina, I zaino-ed my 328. The PO had cared for it very well using meguires products but at certain angles it had the typical swirl marks you see from many car detailers.

I removed the old wax with 3 washings using original Dawn detergent and then applied two coats of Zaino Z3 (for regular paint, not clear coat) with ZFX additive in about 30 minutes, applying/removing in straight passes toward the front and rear of the car. No more swirl marks and a very deep, liquid shine.

I know there is plenty of controversy re car care but I have really liked Zaino and it once again proved excellent. One BIG complaint I had about it previously was that it took a long time to apply because you had to wait a long time before removing it. Several applications could (and did) take all day. But with the ZFX additive, that is no longer necessary, just put it on, wipe it off and immediately do it again as many times as you'd like. You don't have to buy/use the additive but it sure makes it quick!

I didn't take any pics and there's supposed to be the remnants of a hurricane coming through here tomorrow so we're in for a lot of wind/rain. Since the car is outside, I'll have to wait until Sun to take a few pics. I should have taken some shots of the before/after but it didn't occur to me. But my main point wasn't necessarily to convince anyone that Zaino is better than other products because most folks already have their favorites. But I wanted to point out the fact that Zaino has "corrected" the most-expressed complaint about using their products - the LOOONG drying time.

If you want an even better shine, use the clay bar after the Dawn and before the Z3. Between coats of Z3 use the Ultra Clean. For the final step use the Grand Finale. It will look like liquid glass at that point. Talking to Sal Zaino he said about 6 coats is the upper limit, after that it is the law of diminishing returns. However, if the paint isn't perfect you will eventually start to see "imperfections" that weren't noticeable before using the Zaino. But that takes a LOT of coats. BTW, skip the glass, tire and leather products. I don't think they work well at all.
