A public thank you to Pete @ Universal Autosports

I recently bought some Scuderia body panels that were being stored at Universal for the owner. After completing the deal with the owner of the parts, Pete sent the crate out to me. When I opened the crate, I found that the rear Lexan window had a deep scratch about a foot long. I brought the window to several glass guys who all said the same thing: the scratch is way too deep to fix. I got in touch with Pete (who I had never even spoken to prior to this) and he said to send it back and he'd see what he could do.

Well, surprisingly enough, Pete got back to me a few days later and said that he would take responsibility for the damage and replace the window! First of all, I find it amazing that he took my word that I didn't do the damage myself while unwrapping it. And second of all, I found out later that these parts were taken off a well known Scuderia which was stripped of it's parts in Italy...with those parts being shipped back to the US. The parts were still wrapped as they came from Italy...so they were obviously damaged there.

My replacement window came today...along with the original.

I think it's important that Pete's actions be made public. In this day and age of "passing the buck," Pete stepped up and took care of a problem that he could have easily turned his back on. It's the way I've always run my business, and it's the reason why I've become a loyal customer of Universal Autosports.
