I posted this in the 303/328 section but got no replies. Maybe someone in the larger community can answer this for me. Once the warranty card is torn out by the dealer/service shop during the service is it filed somewhere, mailed to FNA, or is it just tossed? In my warranty book (1987 328 GTB) the first left over page was stamped by Wide World of Cars in 1987 (where the car was originally purchased in 1986), the second left over page is blank, the third stamped by Carriage House Motor Cars in 2002. I am trying to track down some history of my car. Any thoughts on this would be welcomed. Thanks, -F
I prefer them to be stamped rather than torn out......I don;t know where they'd send it... On your newer car, FNA may be able to help...
Are all the warranty cards in your service book still in place? It seems there are different procedures but one "standard" procedure is tearing the card out, stamping and signing the remaining page and attaching the card to the service paperwork or mailing the card to FNA. This was done by Wide World of Cars (New York dealer) back in 1987 and by Carriage House Motor Cars (CT dealer) in 2002. The last five numbers are 67033. I have searched though the basic locations (like the GTB registry) but if you can use any of your inside connections (FML, FNA, local Ferrari clubs, etc.) to find any information about this car that would be great. -F
As dumb as it was, it was intended to be filled out, ripped out and placed in the dealer file. FNA has enough paper to worry about. They have no interest in keeping service records.
