I have the 6opportunity to buy a 1997 F355 (6 Speed Manual) with 15K miles. It is represented as excellent condition, no dash srinkage, a few sticky parts, the CarFax is excellent, never been crashed, everything works. The major service was done with 12,169 miles on this Ferrari on 05/03/03, I it, so it's been driven 3,633 miles since the service. I can get this CA car (I am in CA) for $42,500. What do you think?

Get it inspected. It's due for timing belt service.

    Certainly looks tidy! :D:D

Get a PPI done and if its all good, then buy it. :D:D

For that price, I would be all over it. But in saying that, we are still paying US $140K+ for 355's. :(:(

Probably why I am getting all excited over a US $43K 355.:eek:

If you buy it and upgrade the stereo, please sell the stock head unit to me. Seriously, ok!?

Definitely PPI and plan for a major. At $42.5 if it's clean, it's a deal...if you could get to 40 or below, you stole it.

I wonder if that is the green one on craigslist that has been for sale forever and has not sold. It has been for sale I think rather high profile for a long time. At least 6 months. Therefore check it out closely. Sometimes the cheapest part of ferrari ownship is the purchase..you know like your wedding!

If we could drive LHD cars here, I would already have a fleet of Ferraris in the garage. ;);)

We can only drive LHD cars over 30 yrs old here in Australia. :(:(

Bummer on the LHD. It wasn't the one on Craig's List. It is Swater's Blue, blue interior, blue top. I lost out to another guy for a lousy $500, so I am in back up position. With a fresh timing belt service and God knows what after the engine came out it probably would have put me over $50K. I can get near there with cars with fresher majors. I would have been willing to comprimise with this color, but it is not my favorite. So the search goes on. Thanks to everyone that responded. I am a first time buyer, and very careful, and am giving myself 6 months to find the right car. I have found everyone in the Ferrari community very helpful.

    Thanks all!

    Dang it. :p:p

Best of luck next time mate. Keep an eye out, it took me over 12 months to find my car. :):)

But we dont have the same amount of cars for sale here like you do there. Im sure you will find one within 6 months. :):)
