A rally for charity

Have we ever tried to organise something like this in Oz?

Probably too hard to do nationally unless we made it part of the National Rally, but it would be possible to do something like this state by state. Each state could even do it on the same weekend?

Just a thought?

Yeah I could do that, but was first trying to test whether there was any interest.

we do other things up here (MAW, Leukemia night, etc)

 

That's excellent John....in SA we do nothing and I haven't noticed many other activities in other states reported in Horsepower.....maybe I missed it?

Victorias Concours day is always for "Very Special Kids", has been as long as I've been a member and thats over 10 years now.

Not always Very Special Kids, but always a charity.

 

You might be able to contact the "Make a Wish" people and have the track/ride day in each state on the same day. Include the Lambo and Porsche boys like we do here in Qld. RB could even be included with his Jag!
Invite some celebs, ex race driver guys etc, get the tv stations involved where they can throw to each venue live around the country, they have stunt bike riders and BMX guys on ramps for those that are waitng, blah blah that sort of thing.
It is a great day, when you see the look on those kids faces when they get in the Ferrari for a few laps. They're smiling, your smiling, horse is smiling........................................ as he blasts past you.............again.......in the GTR.
Anyway you get the idea.

I,m not sure if I told you re MAW day.
At the last one,09,apparently about 70% of the child recipients are no longer with us...........


The smiles are truly put into perspective given those sort of figures.
