    It's a proven fact that doctors are very conservative when it comes to treating pain & infact MD's have been sued for the same too.
    To be quite honest every case is different and in gentry's case if he had no previous history of taking norcotic pain killers then i would have had no problem prescribing him some.

    thanks for all of the free advertising for physical therapy, now to what the problem is, if you want to use your own natural pain killers, you need to exercise. if you stretch and exercise your non effected extremities, and your trunk, you would significantly decrease the pain you are complaining about in you back/neck. next, I'm assuming the stress fracture is in you foot/ankle, I would perform exercise on the effected extremity(hip, knee) as to increase the circulation in the general area of the injury, also assuming that the injury is not still in the inflamitory phase. because: blood is what heals things, it carries all of the good stuff even your natural pain killers. so if you increase the circulation to the affected area, it should heal faster. Disclaimer: don't put more stress on the effected tissue than what the doc has prescribed.
