why, why, why would you pick up another STARTING qb? before i get into this, believe me when i say that i think trent green is a good qb, injury prone, but still a very good, diecent, strong quarterback, and i have no personal beef with him, just with the management in the front office of the rams, (who happen to be 1500 miles away in LA)
we have a starting quarterback. marc bulger is in just about the same class as trent green, very good and solid, but not great, but good enough to get the job done, case in point the 2 or 3 years after we won superbowl 34. when they released gus frerotte, i was certain they were going to pick up a qb with their first draft pick, which i thought would be terrible considering we need offensive linemen. now, instead of trading for a backup qb, we get a starting qb? this is not what the rams need. they don't need a quarterback controversy, because now, if we have another poor start, scott linehan isn't going to get the heat, instead, fans will be pulling for a qb change, which is exactly the wrong thing to be pulling for. marc bulger didn't have a good year last year because we had NO offensive line. exactly what the rams are doing wasting valuable salary cap money on another starting quarterback is beyond my comprehension.
    sorry for the rant.

Shaw was never all that competent. He was on the verge of being fired when they were here. All the confusion surrounding the move was like a stay of execution for him.

more like georgia didn't like change, except of course on the coaching front, where it really matters. (she was still somewhat reluctant to make drastic changes there as well) it's almost to the point that the rams need to start seriously reconsidering what they're doing. georgia's son needs to decide if he's going to keep the team or sell it off, and come on, how can you manage a team in st louis from california? it's easy: you can't!

The Rams have a lot of other problems besides their QB. The team seems to have steadily decayed from their Superbowl years of nearly a decade ago. I have nothing against either Bulger or Green, but Green is a concussion waiting to happen while Bulger seems to lack "it" that will make the team a Superbowl contender.

They still have some strengths, but need to heavily fortify their numerous weak areas. As someone said, the line is where a football game is won. If you can control the line, chances are you will be successful.

I doubt they'll really consider Green for the starting job, and yes if they get Jake Long and draft another good offensive lineman who can start I think they'll be a team to watch this year

Bugler, fantasy stat-wise, has been one of the most productive QB's in the last few years and when combined with his top two receivers (Bruce, Holt) seemed to be remarkable.

As far as the rest of the team goes, HB is COVERED by Jackson (es obvio), WR could stand to see a vet back in the core with the loss of Bruce to free agency...

Defense is where I see the problems occuring....

they are fast, but they are NOT known as a crew of hard hitters (Eagles/Broncos/etc...).

They need a good CB, another good safety, and a team-leader-style LB of some sort.

but who am i to say anything....

you've got some good points there, losing bruce will hit us hard, which brings up another point about our management, they told isaac last year "help us out in the payroll department this year, we'll reward you next year with 4-5 million" any guesses as to why we lost bruce? you got it, they couldn't come up with the 4-5 million dollars.

Remind me how much Marc Bulger is getting paid. He signed a 6 year/65 mill contract in July, for comparison sake Tony Romo (greatest football player in existence) is making only 6 year/67.5 million.

Bruce and Holt were getting up there in years, and there isn't much depth at WR. Steven Jackson is amazing (if healthy) and Brian Leonard has some potential.
I'm still puzzled on what happened to Mike Martz, but at least the Rams have 2 former head coaches as coordinators.
