A rather costly mistake...

    Was at our local Ferrari dealer that had a 308 motor opened up, apparently the owner had never checked the oil in about a year and the net result was the engine seized, most of the internals are finished, the crank is blue, externally the engine after clean up looks brand new but the rest is scrap material.

    Apparently this parts for this motor are not cheap, the net result being the owner is know considering parting the car off(rest of the car is in fair condition) or doing an engine transplant....what he intends fitting I have no idea.....

    Must say was very interesting seeing the engine out of the car, interesting to see how small it actually it, when in the 308 because the compartment is so small one thinks this is really a rather big motor, the reality of course being differant.

    Will try get some pictures of the internals of this engine....

    and the 360 is nearly identical in size as well, amazing really.

    I think its a pre quattrovale, definately not a GTSi either so would say about a 1980 model. Heard that the whole car might be up for sale for around R150 000 not sure how accurate that rumour is.
