My car was in Arena Motors for it's major and Steve noticed several of the hoses were not original and some of the braided should be replaced. (it was on my winter to-do list. oh well :( )

He knows I'm a stickler for original (when possible). So he found a source for all of the braided hoses. I told him to pick up what he needed to swap out my old lines.

He's not offering kits or anything (that I know of) but he does know the older cars. Give him a shout and I'm sure he can pick up extra when he picks them up for my 83 qv. If you've got a QV, then just ask him to cut duplicates for your car.

Another thing we found today - my 2 year old Ferrari dust boot kept slipping off the collar no matter what type of tie we used. Well it finallyl cracked into uselessness. Although I had bought Porsche boots per this forum, Steve recognized that a 355 is almost an exact match and there is a significant collar for attaching the boot on the bolt-on plate. Done!
(he used washers instead of the spacer-bars due to a small differenece on the 355 retainer plate.

    Oh, Steve is at 877-310-6670

    Clyde,

Good info on the braided lines. I'd love to know where he is sourcing it, as I need a bunch of it for the 328. May have to give him a call.

As for the half-shaft boots (assume that's what you are talking about, the boots on the rear output shafts/universals), I bought them from Partsource in Maine for the '78 308 a couple of years ago, and they installed without any problem, and stayed in place as they should with the ties that were supplied with them. They were a perfect fit, and were not expensive. T. Rutland, Ricambi, Partsource all sell them, and they all seem to be the same. I'm not familiar with the Porsche boots, but the right ones for the F-cars ain't that expensive to begin with.

    Regards,
    Steve

I don't know where Steve's sourcing the hose. I did suggest he make it available for us FChatter's as there's lots of threads here wanting it. I did find a business on the internet, but needing to buy in bulk, I didn't persue it.

As to the boots - my last set came from one of the above suppliers. But both sides kept popping off after a couple of shops/people tried refastening them with assorted bands. Seems every time the car was jacked up, they'd pop off. But the last time, the driver side cracked. Looking at the caps from a 355 vs the 308, the 355 has a more pronounced lip and it looks like it may hold better. I'll have to look at the schematic & get the part #s/Tav off them.

As to the Porsche boots - They're listed on this site as direct replacements. Looking at them next to Ferrari ones (from a dealer), they were identicle.
