A startling thought...

Was at my Ferrari dealer today, a group of us usually gather ever saturday morning to socialise ans drink great coffee. Anyway one of the guys owns a 430 spider stick shift and a 599 GTB F1, conversation ranged to road driving and this gentleman is in my opinion an example to all Ferrari owners and perspective owners, he actually uses his cars, in the year he has had his 599 he has done nearly 10 000 km's, often goes on long trips....

I asked him how fast he has driven his 599 on the road, the answer hit my like a bullet...325km/h, the startling thing about this is that it was achieved easily, when one looks back 20 odd years ago this was the relm of the lightweight F40 and other very race biased machinery. He also mentioned that at this speed the car was still pulling strongly....but he developed a noise in the passenger seat.....the lady started to complain!

This thread might be rather passe but its really amazing how easily these cars today can achieve this speed and how easily this speed is achieved. Will post up a picture of what this piece of road looks like....
