If you have a friend of the opposite sex who is married is it ok to give them one? Intention is merely a gesture of appreciation and gratitude, thoughts or opinions? My gregarious nature is sometimes misunderstood and I am not saying this person would be offended (that would have happened years ago). I am the type of person that enjoys random thoughts or actions of kindness/friendship.

Express your thanks/gratitude in person, next time you see her.
You just don't know the mood or disposition of her husband at the moment he finds your card.
Especially if he finds it after his wife may have tucked it away somewhere...like her lingerie drawer.

Gregg, despite how innocent or friendly your gesture might be...
it's not worth potential misinterpretation. Seriously!!!

A good friend of mine brought my fiancé (at the time) a bottle of wine on Valentine's Day one year. I couldn't clearly discern his intentions, so I immediately "de-friended" him, quite verbally, the next (and last) time I saw him. Repeat: DON'T DO IT!

    Thanks.

That's the best, and most appropriate, thing you can do.
You don't want to leave a "paper trail" that can come back and bite you in the a**, or worse, months or years down the road. Take care man!

My friend while she was at work and the pic is off her work website so I am not overstepping any boundaries although at first I had my reservations. Such a great person.

Be REALLY patient, give her lots of space. If she jumps on you "on the rebound", it will likely burn out fast and you'll lose her (probably for good). If you want more, go really really slow!

In all honesty Tim it is not really a persuit (men have a different perspective of the meaning - so maybe it is? lol). She is just a great person and she show's me alot of kindness in the sense that she understands me. She has two daughters between 2-4yrs old and that topic is always something we both carry on about.

Since loosing my Lindsay I really just enjoy the female friendship, I have always had more close female friends than males. Atleast she is my friend and that is all that really matters.

I'm far-far from being a bible-thumper, but the OP, a person I respect because we are going thru similar issues, needs to take a look at that commandment about coveting someone else's wife. I would not be making an issue of this if he wasn't trying to get people to join him in church.

Yeah...the chick is hot. No debate there. Gregg, would you have the same feelings of kindness, generosity, etc, towards her if she was plain-looking or homely?

    Really dude...

Publicly coveting someone's wife and simultaneously encouraging people to join you in church?
    That's some serious hypocrisy.

I think you are being a little hard on the guy. He appreciates her as a friend and is concerned about not overstepping his bounds.

This is why mans best friend is supposed to be a dog......

If I was the husband Id find it strange(to say the least) that some dude is posting my wife's pic on a random site.

That said she looks good lol.

I'm just trying to help the man from getting hurt (read "shot") by a jealous husband, or ex-husband, if things go south. You never know what might push someone into a jealous rage. That person might seek the path of less resistance leading right to Gregg. Posting her picture, in my opinion, was over the line. That in itself could really piss-off someone that potentially could be tired of people hitting on his "hot" wife. As now the ex-husband of the fiancé that my former friend "hit on" on Valentine's Day, I know how it feels to have the shoe on the other foot.

Hope the husband doesn't have a carry permit.

Gregg, I'm going to PM you in a few minutes.

You did not have to reply either and I take offense to/too/two your implication. I put up with alot of crap from people simply because I am a good person but if you do not know me personaly please refrain from implying that I am creepy.

This kind of shows the reason why you should just stay away........The husband wont know you personally and thus will likely misread your intent......
