Here is one of me after PimpDaddy pimped me out on Photoshop.
Too bad half of the pictures disappeared from that thread during the big Fchat meltdown of '04.

Here are some rules I made up for Ferrari maintenence. It might help on a TR too, especially#7.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    How tough is maintenence?

Rule #1. Do not expect to get anything done quickly on a Ferrari. It will probably take 3 times longer than you orginally thought.

Rule #2 Keep a small child handy to reach into the tiny little crevises that only the Italians could think up.

Rule #3 Talk to your doctor about a third hand.

Rule #4 Prepare to spend 3 times what you thought it would cost.

Rule #5 Never set a deadline for completion

Rule #5 Take pictures of everything with a digital camera BEFORE you take it apart.

Rule #6 Keep www.wordreference.com handy on your computer so you can translate those part names listed in Italian.

Rule #7 Be sure to give the car a name. You can love it more if it has a name. You will also have something to call it when you cuss at it!

Rule #8 CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. Keep it clean. A clean engine is much nicer to work on than a dirty one.

Rule #9 Treat your car good and it will treat you good. Do ALL of the required maintenance when it is due.

Rule #10 Remember, It's just a loose formation of nuts and bolts much like any other car except this one was assembled by passionate Italians. There is no other like it. All you need is a few tools, the specifications and a lot of patience. (and maybe a little wine and cheese).

    Feel free to add more.

Hey Steve, how great is this!? I know you've been looking for some time now.
You are officially at the peak of the food chain. With a Ferrari & a P-51, life doesn't get much better!!
Congratulations. Looking forward to meeting you at the Reno gathering of P-51s if not before at a Ferrari event.

I think Sparky would be good one but if you get a hankerin' for an Italian name head over to www.wordreference.com. It's fun to see what you can come up with. Thats how I found Spasso. We are allowed 7 spaces here so a little more wiggle room.

    One of the uses of the word;
    spasso (divertimento) nm fun (entertainment)

    (diversion) (enjoyment)

It best reflects the activity and feeling I have with the 308.

Byron...inorder for me to be top of food chain need to have 20 years shaved off of total of too many, mo hair on top, and as previously stated, Christie Brinkley. But as my dad used to say,"you can wish in this hand and poop in the other and you know which ones gunna fill up first". DJ.....lots of names fast--veloce, gone--andato, bolt lightning--saetta, greased lightning--baleno, geewiz--gewiza, alright--vabene, dog kennel--canile, excuse me--scuzzi, wedge--zeppa...jeez. So many names, so little time. Suggestions, sugestions....anybody.

Great stuff! Saetta or Boleno would fit the number plate and the character of the car. Good catch.

Neither would work on mine as it is old and slow...............

Not true. I'm old and slow. All Ferraris are fast....just some are faster than others. Just like girls. Its all relative....I think. Besides all Ferraris look like they are going somewhere when they are just sitting there.

    Sparky P-51,

To keep this thread rolling, pictures of another Northern California boy flying a Rolls Royce powered aircraft. I'm currently stuck behind a desk, and have enjoyed the aviation chat.

I'm not sure if I'm more impressed you have a P-51 or Joe Montana's TR.

    Take care,

Waldo...the Mustang is by far the coolest, but its a 400mph airplane and I have a 100mph brain. Having a choice in the matter, I would much rarher die in bed with my wife than in some 60 year old fighter. "mans got to know his limitations"....Harry Callahan. Is that you in the Harrier? Very cool aircraft.ss

DJ..better bone up on ur aircraft. Its a B-25 Mitchell. Some of the Santa Rosa boys obtained her from Alaska a few years ago and did a 100% restoration. Two Wright Cyclone R-2600 engines. Great platform. My son wants us to trade the 51 for a restored one plus plenty cash. Be great, I could fly again and with him. Zanadu. Buzz the Napa Valley about 0600 & wake em all up. Let see, I figure July 1 del date for TR. This will be a 47 pg thread. Rob otta love that????

DUH! It's been a while. There is one or two B25's that show up at Arlington every year. I should know better!

I was looking at the gun layout/package on that one thinking of the setup on a black A26 I saw at Boeing field about 18 years ago. I'm used to seeing the glass nose on the 25's.

The picture of the black one below is not the one I was referring to.

I didn't even think about the single vertical fin versus the twin tail on the 25.

A comprimise...50 per page. A-26 a much better acft. P & W R-2800 engines, a laminar flow wing like the 51, cruse speed 240mph. 51 cruses 260mph. I've had a hard time catching up with one 4 a photo shoot. Bill Lears kid raced one at Reno years ago. Have to dig out more pix for "extra long thread".
