    I see these kinds of trains quite often - isn't that the common way to repair/replace tracks since, maybe, 20 years? Great to watch live, though!

    Edit: Just showed the video to a friend working with the Deutsche Bahn, and he told me that a) the video shows machinery in Belgium, and b) that the construction train pictured was an older model, newer ones could be operated by as few as 5 people.

    Pretty cool to watch. Any idea what the lifespan of concrete RR ties are vs. the traditional wood variety? I assume they're reinforced, but I'd think the wood has an advantage by flexing.
