Looks like possible oil leak on the headers. Around that area where hoses, and filter are.

nasty. doesn't look like a crash. more like some sort of fire. thus with all that ash. if someone is selling that wreck, at least hose it down.

    Dear Lamborghinisti,

Hmm...such a strange fire. It looks like most of the damage is on the driver side especially just at the back of the driver door. The engine cover is melted more from the driver side.

The fuel tank and main fuel lines are on the passenger side. Even the rubber air intake hoses on both sides of the engine is intact. If there was a fire, this would be melted for sure.

If it was some sort of oil line, the driver rear tire would be burned.

It looks like some kind of external fire. I would almost guess someone threw lighter fluid or gas on the car and ignited it.

I think you are right, the paint is burnt all the way up to the front quarter panel, and there's more damage to the door and inside than would be expected from an engine fire.

I found out that the car was in a garage fire and that's how the damage happened. Too bad that car had such a troubled life, it was so beautiful.

Classic case of failed oil lines, blows oil onto hot exhaust/cats and POOF! Fixed two of those now, luckily no fire, just lost oil pressure.

    Dear Lamborghinisti,

I don't think in this case. Both rubber intake hoses are completely intact. This both sit just back of the headers and right abover the primary cats.

The fire ruined the engine cover but not the intake hoses...I say external... :)

A few times, I drove the car on the left.

I am still waiting for the keys, to the car on the right :D.

My info shows that Diablo was auctioned in June of this year, but I don't have final sale price info, or whether the insurance company actually let it sell - their reserves are usually undisclosed and fairly high the first couple times around.

There's an amazing number of totaled exotics just sitting in inventory...they are very slow to sell. The Gallardo in the second link has been sitting though at least one winter - note the snow on the seats?!

FYI the links are not actually the selling party - they're ads for "brokers" that bid on behalf of interested parties. Not sure if any are reputable, but there's a lot out there.
