Looks like Ferrari is going to have to eat the 20 cars it built...ouch. No wonder optioning a 458 is obscenely overpriced!

Wonder if they'll be supported by the Corsa Cliente program? They're really just 2004 F1 cars.

I very much doubt Ferrari has ever delivered anything without payment in full.

Cars built by Ferrari could find buyers, I'd think.

    I have to tell everyone...

I did bid on a few items. First, VERY unresponsive. Second, I think they're playing some games. They say they are concentrating on selling the entire A1GP as a whole. Fine, that I understand. Why, then, do they put submit bid buttons on each individual lot? And, why have some lots, but not others, disappeared off the auction page? Would suggest that they have sold some items individually.

Early on, I expressed interest in several items. I got a response the next day informing me that they were only interested in selling the entire lot *at first* but if they were unable to do so, individual items would likely come up for sale later on. When I noticed that items were now listed individually, I placed bids on some items, and have not heard a response yet.

Well, the 599GTB and a couple of the Ferrari racecars would be fun........paint them back to the 2004 Scuderia Ferrari livery........

Hey! They are selling the 'goodwill".....what's that worth, you suppose????

Not much to me, at least.

I view this as a distressed asset sale. Good luck finding a buyer for the whole lot! NEVER going to happen.

Did this sale conclude or were all of the lots pulled prior to close? Sale does not show up in closed auctions on the go-dove site.

    Ney,

I re-confirmed my bids directly with the contact agent at go-dove on the day the auction ended (4/30). I only heard back today that they, "will keep me informed." So, I don't know what the status is other than to say the whole lot didn't sell, as I assume if it had, they'd tell me.

    We'll see...

If I am, I'll have to pay more in shipping and customs than I did for the goods themselves!

I am not sure anyone really knows. As it is a Private Treaty sale rather than an auction, the seller has to agree to accept the price for the item. However, since there is an administrator and a liquidator in this sale, both may have to agree on the price to sell. Very interesting asset liquidation. Could be bargins, or could be a big flop to be further argued in bankruptcy court.

BTW, I wouldn't even consider buying just one. You'd need at least two PLUS a whole bunch of spares. I wager that if you ever need them, SpA would be willing to sell you some at ridiculously inflated prices! Eventually. But, if you can acquire them now for pennies on the dollar...

    Anyway, that's my .02

So far, no estimates have been published, and the auctioneers have not stated if there are reserves. However, I suspect this will be a total flop. I'm certainly not surprised there hasn't been a buyer for the whole shebang.

Only if it is badged a 'Ferrari', painted red, and has a Ferrari powerplant that is free and clear.
