Firstly it could never be a ferrari police car becouse it would break. And as far as the police lambo goes one hot pursuit with a bit of upclose rubbing and offensive driveing, the car will be of the road for months if it survives at all. When i drive in Italy i think i will take a handfull of spiked caltrops to throw out of the window to give it a puncture so after a few yards it F**ks up its wheels= out of commision. YEA!! We had a lotus espirit pig car in the UK a few years ago, where is it now?????

Yeah, that's them. My female friend were so impressed w/ their looks, and I was impressed how well they dressed & how fit they look. I wanted their boots! (seriously) My head is too big for their beret(sp?)!

    Thanks for the link.

Here in the Netherlands, only the bad guys drive a Camaro. In fact, anyone over here who wants to make a statement he is a bad guy, drives a Camaro or maybe a Beretta if he is not a very succesful bad guy.

Dutch highway police used to have Porsche 911 Targa for decades, they always drove it with the top off. Before they had Alfa Spider but the justification for the Porsche was because of its aircooled back engine, in traffic jams the Police would have to drive for miles in reverse and the Porsche engine wouldn't overheat doing so, yeah right!

I doubt that car will see much actual law-enforcing time - I'd think that the police would use it more of a promotional tool for visiting schools and recruiting highway patrol officers. You'd recruit a lot of young men with it - under the illusion they could drive it around someday.

In Hawaii they allow nearly anything from certain mfr's as a police car (they have a system where they give a monthly amount to the officer to purchase the police car of their choice)... there's many Explorer, Pathfinder, Mustang, even Nissan Altima cop cars. The two craziest were an early 70's Corvette Stingray cop car I saw once (in 1998), and one of the officers in my town drove a black 1992 IROC z28. Classic.

i am italian and live in rome,
On the occasion of the 152° anniversary of the Police of State, 14, 15 and 16 May, in Plaza of the People in Rome, the Traffic police introduces a Lamborghini Gallardo dressed with the colors of the Police, with so much of siren and of flashing lights on the roof.

The car, given from the House of Sant'Agata Bolognese, he will be used by the road Police on the highway Salerno-Reggio Calabria. The Gallardo will also be employed in the activities of sanitary help-thanks to the equipment that also understands an automatic defibrillatore-as well as in the transport of plasma and organs for transplantations.

Besides the sanitary endowment, the motorcar will be provided of apparatuses of transmission, also of images, to high technology able of see events as accidents, fires or other natural calamities. All of this will be made possible by the navigator satellite with handset GSM, from the system Provida for the recording of violations and transmission live of images, from the direct connection to the bank you date of the Police and from the system of recognition plates Elsag "Autodetector."

The employment of the Gallardo - that it totally has a V10 of 5.0 liters from 500 Cvs and 310 km/s and the body shop in aluminum - you/he/she will be made also possible under conditions meteo and leading road not optimal, thanks to the permanent integral traction and the special snow tires Pirelli "Sottozero", on purpose developed for the cars Lamborghini.
