    Hard to believe that these were not utilized in the last hours of evacuating to get more citezens to shelters in Baton Rouge and Lafayette.

    Apparently an 18 year old stole a bus and packed it full of 100 people and drove them all to Houston. Heroic in my opinion!

    What a waste of a great means of evacuating people.

    I saw that kid on the news...he looked about 15 and it was his first time driving a bus! It was a busload of mostly teens and they pooled their money and bought gas and diapers along the way.

    The mayor should have all of those buses loaded with people heading out of the city prior to the storm. Let's play the race card and also blame Bush.

    He stole a bus. Yeah, that's great. One web site said he car jacked it and was riding around with a bunch of other loosers stealing and looting before leaving town.

    Thats the first I have heard of that. Most sources say the bus was just sitting idle on the street without anyone in it.

    John, I've been searching all of the forums where I found it. Fchat, Corvetteforum, viperalley, viperclub, 6speed, shoot they've all got so many threads about New Orleans I've lost track, but I do remember someone linking to a story about it. My wife and I were actually shopping for plane tickes to head down there and look at some new condos for sale on Lake P. Guess they're real cheap now.
