After giving this a great deal of thought, I have decided (finally) to place my name as a candidate for the presidency of the local FCA. First of all, whoever does this is going to have some REALLY big shoes to fill. Don Rose has done a fantastic job with the club over the past few years, and he has told me that the membership has risen from around 35 up to about 150 or more. The club is really stronger than it has ever been, and we have Don to thank for that. My agenda? First (as they say about the doctors) - try to do no harm. We like to have the race watch parties, and the once a month breakfast. It is also nice to have about two driving events per year, and perhaps two or three FCA only special events - such as the Enzo birthday. We have not had a Christmas party in a long while, but maybe that can wait until 2014. Facebook? Twitter? - NO. Do not count on me for that. My view of this club is about sparkplugs, fuel injectors, and gearshifts. I would deeply appreciate anyone who supports me in this endeavor - I can honestly tell you that I will give it my all and try to do the best job humanly possible.
I also have given it a lot of thought. I will place my self in the arena. To be honest I could not ask for a better person to run against. My agenda would be to increase membership input on events. I would enjoy having members come up with new events and having them help execute them. I handle the Facebook now and have no problem doing it no matter who wins. We have some of the best people in this club and Don Rose has done an amazing job running this club. I can only hope to have similar results.
Thank you, Shawn. Perhaps we should work together rather than being apart. I actually only wanted to carry it for about a year or two, and then let the next person have it.
James, you have my full support in any way!! What ever is the best for the club. The members deserve that.
Another testament to the great work Don Rose has done for the D/FW chapter. I have heard in the past no one wanted to take the responsibility of this position and now we have at least two great candidates. I hope this chapter continues to grow as I look forward to continued involvement and many more fun activities!
Just thought I would bring this back up to the top while Shawn and I fight it out as good Ferrari Friends!
