    Hey guys,
I am about to purchase my first Ferrari and need some input on the dealer and the the car.
I am just curious if anyone on the forum has dealt with "Global Motorcars of Houston" and if they are a reputable dealership. The reviews on yelp for the dealership is not so great so I'm a bit cautious with them especially when they are asking for a non-refundable deposit of $1000.

I am also going to get a PPI for the car at Lamborghini of Houston before i make the commitment, but they won't take the car over there for PPI unless I put down the deposit. I am also working it out that they sign an agreement stating that if there are any undisclosed damage/repaint/major issues to the car found through the PPI that the deposit get refunded.

I am hoping that someone on the forum has looked at the car or knows about it. Carfax checks out good, but Carfax you all that it's just used as reference.
    Thanks in advance.

FYI, the link goes to a page that says "The car listed is no longer for sale" or the seller has removed the listing or something like that.

    Yeah,
I haven't ran into that before either. For me anyway, I've always been able to get the car checked out before committing to buying it. Just seems a bit fishy.

Non refundable deposit + low price + sketch dealer = scam. I would run as there are plenty of nice cars out there.

I put a deposit down on mine before PPI and had a small paragraph written up that said that it was refundable if PPi was not to my satisfaction, signed by myself and dealer. In my case the car was new to the market here and there were multiple interested parties so I was happy to lock the car up. F-Car Dealership FWIW.

Seems unnecessary to have to put 1K down. Having read the feedback on the other thread, these guys sound exactly like the kind of people that may give you a problem when trying to get your money back. I would not want to deal with them period. They should be plenty convinced you are serious if you are willing to do a PPI at your expense.

Original Poster: you don't say where you live but if you buy a triple black car in Houston make sure your PPI gives the total A/C system a rigorous check out

If I was a used car dealership owner I wouldn't let someone touch my inventory without a financial commitment. Bolts strip, paint scratches happen. There are different levels of PPI and some get pretty involved. Removing spark plugs to check cylinders, a lot can happen just doing that IMO.

Non refundable is a sign that the dealership is not interested in your satisfaction = walk away

Don't know too much about Global but I know someone who may. Mark Darragh from Spheremotorsports, very well known in Houston as the independent shop who does great work on Fcars. He also does a very detailed PPI. I would recommend to go to him for a PPI since he probably has done PPI on exotic cars from Global.

Thanks guys for all your help and input in this. Gonna be my first Ferrari so want to make sure everything looks good. I called Mark and he will be doing the PPI on Monday. Also I was able to negotiate with the dealer to not put down a deposit Pre-PPI.
Car came from Cali so I will give the Auto Gallery a call to see if they have a history of the services.
Also the car has all books, Tools and car cover that is not in the picture. I verified that with Global. They also say that they have some of the paperwork for service but not all.

make sure you have both keys. Flashlight is nice. Should have car cover, two seat covers, steering wheel cover. service records a must. Mark will do a very thorough job; he did for me.

That's great! If it is from an indy you may be able to talk to them about the car! If it's from a dealership you may be able to use the F-Chat region section to find the PO and talk to him/her!

Yeah, I posted this in the Texas section also that some had suggested. I had some great input from a few fellow f-chatter in Texas. Thank you all for the assistance. Keeping my fingers crossed that the PPI comes back clean. Hopefully i'll join the club here soon.

Thanks everyone for their input and suggestions. I am proud to say, that I am now a proud owner of "new to me" Ferrari F430. I love the way this car drives. It is so hard for me not to put my foot down on the throttle every time i get into the car to hear the exhaust and to feel the crazy fast acceleration of the car. For some reason it feels wayyyyy faster than my previous w212 e63. So light and nimble (scary fast too). I am going to need to know what the limits are on this car as I can see it getting away from me very quickly.
