I would like to have confirmation about 328 s/n after which ABS was standardised. I heard s/n 76626 in 1988. Can somebody confirm ? - What is your opinion about the 328 ABS ? As the TEVES system was quite new, it shouldn't be optimized as it is now .. - Can you confirm that the ABS warning light is the yellow lamp at the bottom left ? Thanks for your feedback !
76626 is the # when Ferrari officially changed the suspension. The most obvious change visually is the wheels became convex instead of concave. In the US, ABS did not appear until the 89 model year, roughly #78800. These cars were actually produced late in 1988. The warning light is in the upper part of the instrument binnacle between the seat bealt and fan warning lights. It says "anti lock" in US cars. It is my understanding that ABS was an option in the Euro market beginning with 76626. I don't know if it was made standard at the same time as US cars or not. The system has a good reputation for reliablity. I have had it intervene a number of times on tracks mainly. I never felt it was overly quick to come on. Also, the pedal does not go crazy like on some early systems. As an early system, I would rate it highly. Today's are much better, of course. Dave
Thanks for the info, Dave. Any chance of a picture of the dash lights? I don't have a seat belt warning light - I think. (I'm in Australia.) regards, Pete
Thanks very much for the photo, Mule. I'm curious now, I think I have different lights on the LHS. S/N #80806 Will look tonight maybe. regards, Pete
