Does anybody know anything about this 2009 Abu Dhabi Blue 430 Scuderia at CNC?...
Does anybody know anything about this 2009 Abu Dhabi Blue 430 Scuderia at CNC? http://cnc-motors.ebizautos.mobi/detail-2009-ferrari-430_scuderia-used-16673664.html Aside of a CarFax with seven service history records, which doesn’t say much, and a copy of a service performed at Ferrari of Tampa Bay back on 4/25/2012, I can’t find any. I am interested in this car and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
It is wonderful that the car visibly checks out, thank you for doing that. It is the service records or lack of that is a bit disconcerting. Do you know of a good place to do a PPI near CNC’s new facility in Upland, CA? I have, in order of closest: FerrariFab @ CFI Designs, FChat user Giuseppe @ F & M Motorsports Claudio @ Foreign Sport Technician Damian @ Calabasas Luxury Motorcars?! D’elegance Detailing, can travel to site with certified tech Also the Scud looks like it spent around two and a half years in Canada. Thanks
The place that everyone (Ferrari and Lamogo owners) goes to in my area (east and south of Los Angeles) is RMT Motorsports. I've used them as many Ferrari owners with great results. Randy is the owner. They are also "closest" - as in ~30 miles or so from CNC. Everyone you mentioned is a lot further (especially if you consider LA traffic, the west LA shop you mentioned is easily 2+ hours in light traffic, 3+ hours in heavy traffic). http://www.rmtmotorsports.com/ I have not purchased from CNC before, but they are pretty reputable. They have a LaFerrari for sale right now ($4 million). They've also just (within a month) moved to this new bigger location. brand new building.
you are welcome. if you need any help (I have a Scud and a F430), I don't mind as long it is withing my capability. like I said, I only lived a few miles away, and CNC's new shop is a great place to visit. They had 3 Scuds and 2 911R (both in $370k, with MSRP of $201k) as of last weekend !!
CNC is a great place. Respectful, great cars and miles above EuroCar where I was laughed at when I was shopping for a Scud. By the owner! That Abu Dhabi Scud has been back and forth at cnc for about two years now. I’ve seen it come and go which leads me to wonder if it’s consignment or it’s sold and returned. It’s not my cup of tea but I’ll admit it’s unique and gorgeous. Some things to look for are poorly done modifications. Headliner sagging. Seat material stretching. Yellow or white carbon in engine bay. Hazy or “spider webs” in the headlight. And clutch and brake life.
I would like to hear about CnC experience and Randy from RMT motorsports since I'm looking to check out F430 at CNC and I will probably use Randy to get PPI done if I decided to purchase F430 from CNC. Thanks in advance!
Just received an update yesterday that CNC finished fixing one of the issues uncovered by the PPI and described below. They decided to resolve it internally at their own service department. The car will be going back to Randy @ RMT for re-inspection first thing Tuesday morning. F1 Transmission Issue: On startup, it takes 2 clicks of the up-shift lever to engage 1st gear from Neutral. While driving, the transmission takes several tries to go from 3rd to 4th, struggles going back from 5th, and intermittently pops in Neutral. There were other issues that I’d be more than happy to provide an update on after the car comes back from RMT.
Quick update; Scud passed re-inspection by Randy at RMT and we are proceeding with the deal. More to come.
They replaced the throw out bearing with Hill Engineering TOB, oil accumulator and bled the F1 system.
Headers seem ok? Also the exhaust bolts can get very rusty. See if they can fix that before pickup. Also any spider webbing in headlights or yellowing carbon fiber? Check the screws that hold the rear bumper mesh on. Those can rust. Also make sure the radio comes with the code card and if possible the CD for programming. Importantly take the car out in the heat and see if the headliner sags. When I got mine as I was cruising the headliner dropped down on me and got glue everywhere. The glue breaks down and the headliner backing board falls down and it’s very messy. Especially while in the canyons. Easy way to test this is if you push up on the headliner it is firm in place and doesn’t have any give. Ask them if they’ll warranty any minor things like that. Also see if they have the original seat covers along with the car cover and red duffel bag.
Also congrats! It’s a very unique and beautiful car. One off spec. Would love to have you cruise with us when you get her! We have a fairly large circle of scud owners here in SoCal
Another thing I forgot was the tail lights. Let the car run and watch if they wobble. Mine were so bad I developed a kit to fix the broken tail light posts. Sorry for multiple posts but I’m trying to recall all the minor issues means my friends have encountered. It’s an amazing vehicle and I’m excited for you to join the family!
