Well I agree he seems to keep a low key profile, I believe he has accepted bad and inconsistent rulings were a real bug bare with a lot of fans, and aimed to sort that out, and I know green issues are high on his agenda. However I agree, all the little behind the scene's stuff I maybe a bit vague on. Overall though Todt is a million times better than the cretin he replaced, and to be honest I did not think that would be the case.
Not criticizing Todt. Or Bernie. I think it is cool to keep it open till the last race, or even the last corner... I don't see the behind the scene's stuff either but just look at all the decisions the FIA makes or doesn't makes year long regarding new items the teams come up with.
Right ok, yes I love down to wire myself who doesn't, just want it, or like it to be as natural as possible. Sure it can not always be like that, great when it is, I think I heard some Motorbike series was wrapped up early on this season and folk lost interest.
Did Bernie pay Nigel Pevney to put some mysterious powder in Seb's gas tank? Stay tuned. I may have to get up early and watch the race live! 5:30 AM. Gads.
Agree. And Senna1994 and Kraftwerk, RB and Vettel didn't need to play it that fine. Webber after all is second on the grid, so Vettel would have been faster. We are been treated like fools. Bernie likely gave RB some cash to manipulate the race ... so sad. Pete
Kinda sucks that Ferrari were given a free pass to break an obvious rule though... to me, it brings back bad memories of Mosley's meddling ways. It seems blatantly clear it refers to races, not days... how could one have a pass that allowed them to break curfew twice in one day? You either get a pass or you don't... it seems completely clear that it refers to races. I can't help but think this special consideration was asked for and given solely because of how the title race is shaping up.
Apparently Varsha is too dumb to understand that as he made a big deal about it: he was concerned we'd be missing the race Well hello, worst case you're too early for it.
You got to say the smart move by Ferrari would be to drop Massa back to P10 as a guard then maybe P11/12 if SV moves up enough to threaten to gain points then use him as a block. it would chew up more time for SV then he would have to go past P11 car, more time, then get past P10 car to even get 1 point. As long as Alonso stays out of trouble he is likely to finish, IMO, in P3/4 which would put him 2 points ahead or 1 point behind. Wow.
Bernie decides how much $ each team gets so he is totally in control. As for RB: they want to look/win like heroes not like a dominating force, they are quite happy to throw a race occasionally, they will win anyway
Agree ... they all win from throwing a race occasionally. Is it still worth watching that is the question? Pete
No, absolutely not. I'll watch the race in Abidabi this time but pass up the practice and qualy sessions.
From the DRS hat. When RB set up Vettel's car to run away from the front, he never gets to use DRS with a tow to overtake, so they gear the car for using DRS in qualifying, running in clean air, and that's it. For running from the back where he will want to overtake at least 15 - 20 cars, they can gear the car higher to take advantage of the DRS and tow advantage to use a higher top speed than they would otherwise be able to use.
Vettel gets a penalty... maybe I should skip qual more often They didn't cheat, Speed should read the rules before making crap up. The rule doesn't say anything about how many times they can use the joker during a race weekend. Aren't you glad Speed wont be covering the F1 next year Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well, who knows for sure I have no proof, and I'am sure you have no proof to the contrary either, however I just don't want to believe that, so I 'am either a gullible old fool, or normal. I do admit Vettel, just needed a steady race in the points, the only clue is that the Redbull car to work at it's best needs to sit on pole in clean air, I think they took a gamble rolled the dice and lost out on this occasion. Mike you have me on that one, I agree, and it slipped by me the true implications of it, still until the race we will not be sure it has been of any benefit.
