With Vettel's penalty there is now actually a reason to watch the race. Should be exciting to see him fight through the field. Something he is notoriously bad at. Maybe he'll even have a DNF running into somebody?

Meanwhile our man at the front has his work cut out. Hope he'll make it past the first turn...

    PS: Speedy :p :p :p

Don't think Alonso is going to get on podium this time
But he will reduce the gap to Vettel. Still looks tough for WDC

I think this is the first time i'm looking forward to this Abu Dhabi race. I hope Nando can do some magic. The F2012 isn't a good qualifier, but a good racer.

I'm excited for the race and can only wonder at this point what ill happen. Predictions place two Mclarens on the podium, no Ferrari in the top 3 with Alonso placing 4th tops but I'm expecting a 5th or 6th place result. Vettel cracking into the 6-8th position by the end of the race. I'm excited to see what will occur between Button (who I expect to make some moves), Webbers, Kimi, and Maldonado.

I think Ferrari will push Massa back to P10 then watch Vettel's progress, if it looks like he is getting near to top 10 finish then push him to P11 or 12 and run him as a block, hold up Vettel for a while, then Vettel still has to get past P11 and P 10 to get even one point.

I'm uncertain Ferrari will bother using massa to block..... For starters, massa early on will have pace, and I expect both Alonso and massa to make up places at the start, maybe to 4 and 7 ish. Once the race develops, I think it's more likely ferraris brainpower will be concentrated on Alonso, and in previous races when the opportunity arises for massa to hold someone up he hasn't been deployed to do that (or hasn't been able too for whatever reason).

If Ferrari concentrate, Alonso can catch Hamilton and webber today, particularly early on, and the car is very good in race trim, so racing for the big points, and keeping massa close to stop vettel making a direct attack at Alonso might be the best way to work. It's best we get Alonso second and vettel limited to fourth than otherwise. Hopefully vettel will struggle with back markers or make a few mistakes, he can blow hot and cold when racing in traffic, he makes some good moves, but also gets himself a bit flustered sometimes when things don't go right, be nice to see him sliding gently off and out of the race and Alonso blast through to win!

Pretty sure with Maldanado in the mix a tangle at the first corner is possible. Button is also complaining about the balance of his car so a podium might be possible. No chance of a win though, this will be Hamiltons race judging by the pace he has.

    Bingo.

Wouldn't have cared about it otherwise. Nor the race. But now it might actually get interesting.

Bernie was talking to Vettel. I wonder what was it about.

I'm certain it's not inviting him for dinner after the race :D
