Looks great. Any idea what kind of fluid is contained in the mirror?

I was told that it's toxic because it contains mercury, but
i never looked into it myself.

That's great work! The quality is like new or better :) Good job guys!!

Here is some info on the mirror. It's a known issue.

The auto dimming mirror has an acid in it. It's not only corrosive but if leaked, it can be bad for health when breathed in.

The problem is prevalent in all the mirrors made by Donnelly. The issue exists for Audi, BMW, and Infinity.

You can get manual mirrors or get your existing mirror fixed. They put in a gel instead of fluid which works well and hopefully last longer. Cost is about $100 and there are two companies that fix this if you mail in the old one.

When the air starts to get into the mirror, you need to either take it down immediately or put some good amount of towels.

Great info, thanks. That wasn't something I'd heard of yet.

Thanks for the compliments... We do the ferrari interior trim refinishing all the time but this was the most challenging project yet as the size of the lettering and emblems made it very time consuming.... If anyone needs any detailing in SD we can deliver!
