The fan motor behind the dash is squeaking. Can anyone provide some guidance and photos on how to gain access to it? It is not the sensor fan, but the main interior AC fan. Looks like it is slightly more trouble to access than the power transistor. I searched previous threads...did not find one on this. Thanks.

    Dear Ferraristi,

Ohhhh.....you're not going to like this but that's a "dash out" situation. If you look up in the driver and passenger side footwells, you will see the big "Boreletti" HVAC box. It's only sold as a single part so you can't buy just the motor....you have to split the case.

Oh, since we're at bad news.....it's no longer available and the last cost 5 years ago was $3500.

Oh yeah, your F dealer will pull the box for you but splitting the box is your business. They won't do it for you as the HVAC box is sold as a single part. If you have the motor rebuilt and it goes out....Ferrari won't warranty the dash pull.

Best thing, learn how to pull the dash...split the case....rebuild the fan motor....reseal case, put back with rest of dash.....easy right?

    Ah....no. :(

Thanks. The "oh no" info helps confirm that the motor is inside the plastic hvac box. I take it that there is no access from the front trunk??

This is definitely a DIY project for me. No big deal. Just hope I can avoid having to bleed off the AC system. The motor works fine. Bearings just need a shot of oil or light grease. Maybe a rebuild. Was going to re-dye or re-cover the dash anyway.

    Any further tips appreciated.

    Dear Ferraristi,

Doom and gloom...me? This is just one of those "ohhh boy" jobs.

Come on Uzz, you should know me by know.....of course the avatar is a half naked chick !

Engineer, there is access to the front of the HVAC box from the fusebox only to access the power connector to the fan motor.

The HVAC box is a sealed unit and must be removed as such. I think you will have to open the AC lines at the expansion valve (next to the box ) and definitely the heater water lines.

Uzz, the above poster has done this....a few times. He has a wealth of experience, just ask as you go along. Do us a favor and post some pictures as you go along....that would really benefit the forum.
