    Hey all,

Blower motor seized up in my '85. It was brought to an electric motor rebuilder and apparently these can't be taken apart and rebuilt.

Was wondering if anyone else has come across this and how did you resolve it? Ferrari does not list the blower as a separate part but rather it is part of the entire AC/heating unit behind the dash.

    Thanks

VDO PM 381. I used one years ago. It is a very close fit so test it a lot before you reinstall the heater box.

The VDO PM381 is out of stock everywhere. But a Four Seasons 35500 cross references to the PM381 and is readily available for short cash and even available on Amazon. Will update this thread with how it goes.

It’s no fun taking the blower motor out. I had to take the dash out to get at it. As long as you have it out, you should replace the blower motor transistor and the foam as most likely it will be crumbling so be ready to replace some of that as well. It seems that the dash is custom fit so keep track of exactly (how many and where) all the extra washers came from so dash goes back in place. There is one fastener to the left of glove box underneath that is hard to get and takes some long extension and patience. Wires going to glove box were difficult to deal with, I ended up cutting and soldering back. Good opportunity to take out any after market alarm or stereo wiring and junk or anything with dash that needs sorting. Enjoy.
