Does anybody have a good primer on how these work? I have one here that has the in and out ports (which I understand) but separately it has two sets of electrical connections on it.

    Any insight would be helpful/useful.

    Thanks all.

Here's a picture of the top connections...I am quite sure one of the two electrical connections is a pressure switch, but what would the other one be used for?

Hi/Low switches. Prevents operation if freon pressure goes too high or low.

Thanks Brian -- only issue I've had with this is I have not been able to find another similar configuration, old or new. Most have a single switch for both high/low or only low?, and a charge port.

Has anybody seen one of these ones before and can you guys give me an equivalent part number?

They now have combination HI/LOW switches. The 2 switches are usually wired in series so a single switch can be installed without modification.

Take it to a good automotive A/C supplier and they will give you what you need.

Thank you, it's very clear now. I have the alternate part number for this unit but like you mentioned it's been up-reved to have a single pressure switch with a dual functionality.
