Access to Magnetti Marelli F40 Cartridge?

    My indy mechanic in Tacoma (Carlo Durante of Alfa of Tacoma) has the Magnetti Marelli testing unit, but in order to diagnose my F40's ignition problem, he needs access to Part # 95970138, which is the F40 cartridge for that tester.

    Anyone on in here who would allow him to borrow it, I would greatly appreciate it. Please PM me. Carlo is a well-known and respected mechanic in these parts, and a number of people on FChat can vouch for him.

    From my experience the Ferrari tester is a pretty useless device in general and most particularly when used on an F40 engine management system.

    When the cars were new we really had a good laugh at those things. All they really ever did was waste our time.

    Are you talking about the Ferrari tester or the Magnetti Marelli tester?

    All I can say is that it's completely useless in my hands, but Carlo asked if I knew anyone who had access to that cartridge for it, so I'm askin' :)

    95970138 is the part # for the US F40 module for the "Ferrari Tester". I have never heard of a Magnetti Marelli tester.


    The factory was for the only time in my experience very apologetic about those things if that means anything to you.

    I had someone offer to sell me one. All he heard at the other end was laughter.
