    I'm trying to get to the MAF adjustment screws. Searches on here and ND's technical FAQ talk about a blue cap to remove. However, I seem to have 2 metal caps and they are firmly lodged in there. I tried a small screwdriver, a pick and razor blade to get them out, but no luck. Any ideas?

    Drill a small hole in the metal plug such that you can insert a sheet metal screw so that you can pull it out with pliers. Yes, that's right. Just like that.

    You won't hurt the screw behind the cap, and the cap is unnecessary and disposable (hey, it's a weight savings to leave it off! Chuckle!) by design.

    So get physical with it. Jam a screwdriver through it, assault it with long nose pliers...whatever it takes.

    If you want to get fancy, use the quick-dry 4 minute "JB Weld" to attach some old piece of metal to the cap, let it dry, then yank off the cap by pulling on the piece of metal. Throw both away after your victory.

    YEAH! I've been active in online forums for close to 20 years since the days of usenet and the rec.autos.* newsgroups, but the helpfulness of the members of this board is just amazing, the best!!!

    I like the drill and screw idea the best, will try that first.
