I purchased a Canon 300D (the EOS digital rebel) from a private party last Friday. It's an old model, but I love taking pics with it. It's my first SLR, and I'm getting hooked.

Anyhow, I was taking pics of my car, not trying to be artistic or anything. I was actually trying to get a couple dash pics so I'd have nice ones to sell the car with. Among perhaps 50 shots I snapped, this one came out.

Dunno why, but I really like it. Anyone else got any "accidental photography", good or interesting pics you didn't intend to take?

I have a bunch of pics that I took by accidentally depressing the shutter release with the lens cap on...

I've perfected that to the point that my results are very consistent.

    I like the pic too.

However, why were you shooting pictures when the car was traveling at a high rate of speed... almost 8 miles an hour! Heck, it might be 8km/h!

Looks like 800RPM to me. Could be wrong.

It takes a while to get used to DSLR's.

One little bit of advice, READ THE OWNER'S MANUAL.

You learn so much from it:D
