It's a nice-looking computer. But, given it's an Acer, it's unlikely to be reliable......Come to think of it.....that's just like a real Ferrari! Pretty but tempermental! :D

Is this one new or is it the same one from about a year ago? The pics look the same but I don't remember the specs.

It's been updated. This is the 3rd, or rather second evolution of the laptop. They started off with the 3000, whichw as a little underopwered with an AMD 2800+(?) and a little lacking with the gfx card. They then went to the 3200 which acquired a AMD64 2800+ and a better gfx card. Now the AMD 64 3000+. Most of the rest like ram and HD have stayed the same through the 3 models.

The exterior has largely remained the same, except I think they have gone with a slot-load CD/DVD RW. Again, it looks good, but for the money, you could probalby get a better performing laptop. But no arguments that it's probalby one of the sexier laptops out there.

I got the Acer Ferrari 3200 laptop as a college graduation present from my family, and I've been very happy with it.

It's got top-notch features and components; really everything you could want. DVD burner, big hard drive, card reader, four USB ports, firewire, bluetooth, wi-fi, a bright 15-inch screen, 64-bit processor...not to mention kick-@$$, turn-head looks! It's a Ferrari computer, man! What else could you ask for?

Unlike with some other Ferrari-licensed consumer electornics, like the Olympus camera, for example, you're not paying extra for the Ferrari branding. It's a well-priced package when you take into account all the features with which it comes packed.

Mine's been perfectly reliable, too. And for the few times I did need to contact Acer tech-support, I've found them very helpful and quick to respond (and all my previous computers were Dells).

    For a tifosi, I couldn't recommend a better computer.
