Hey Folks - I just recently got one of those Acer Ferrari Bluetooth Mouses/Mice - whatever. I had eyed them in the past and found one for a reasonable price recently on fleaBay. Just got it the other day - and while it definitely scores well in the "looks cool" area, it falls a bit short when it comes to feel & performance. It is well and solidly built - does not have a cheap "plasticy" feel to it, but the pads on the bottom that create the sliding surface when you use it are a bit too soft, IMHO - causing it to drag a bit more than I'd like. My other mouse is a Logitech notebook mouse, and I mush prefer it's feel and function. The pads on it are harder and thus slide easier. It's just much smoother and easier to use - but perhpas that's because that's the feel I'm used to. It's also a bit slow to wake up from "sleep" mode - an issue I don't have at all with my Logitech (USB). That's probably the Bluetooth interface though and not something I'll be able to do anything about. I'll certainly give this new toy a chance - will just have to be careful. It seems like the kind of item that could very easily sprout legs and disappear if I leave it sitting unattended. Anyone else have one & care to share your opinion? Scott
I think the drag/slowness you are feeling is the Bluetooth. When your computer is not in use, sometimes the Bluetooth goes to "sleep" or standby, with USB, if your computer is on most of the time, then it is always powered, so it doesn't create lag. Most likely, it will be something to adjust too.
