    Taiwan-based notebook makers Asustek Computer and Acer are both set to launch "luxurious" netbooks in the fourth quarter of 2010 with Asustek to launch a 12.1-inch Lamborghini netbook, Eee PC VX6, while Acer will launch an 11.6-inch Ferrari model, according to sources from notebook makers.

    = The Eee PC VX6 will be equipped with an Intel dual-core Atom CPU and Nvidia Ion 2 graphics at US$699 and is ready for launch in September or October, while Acer's Ferrari netbook will feature an AMD Fusion processor (Ontario) and will launch in the fourth quarter, the sources noted.

    In addition to netbooks, Acer recently announced a Ferrari smartphone, the Liquid E Ferrari, with Android for launch in August.

    = Asustek also plans to launch a Lamborghini notebook using an Intel Core i-series processor and 15.6-inch panel, the sources added.
