Oh well greed of the middle class investor, now all complaining, care factor zero.
And Westpoint, and Fincorp, and b4 Estate Morg., Pyramid. Standby for a run of funds from the others, the gate is open, more will fall ASIC knew, said and did zilch, another ACCC, aka toothless [and useless] tiger Ciao M
i havn't been paying much attention to this (why would i need to anyway) whats the story , poor management, poor investments...???
He has a diamond mine in South Africa. It's some sort of joint venture where his partners are trying to ditch him because his dodgy past is a handicap. There is talk of him being on the receiving end of a billion dollar payday if it all goes to plan. Perhaps that has something to do with the arm candy?
Arm candy ,high 5 best Quote of the day. My uncle was a stock broker of note in the 60,70,80s,he spoke o Bond as a conman in the early 70s and that the America's cup campaigns were use as a vehicle to get the punters in.
It always gets me that these type blokes who plunder good hard working people do not cop a slug from a head doctor one.
You've got to admire the front of Alan Bond if nothing else...It's obvious that the memory problems he had at his trial have extended to the fact that he's forgotten how many people lost money with him as well...Paul Barry's book on him is interesting reading. It's a similar story with those chaming guys at Enron. You should look out for "The Smartest Guys in the Room", an interesting documentary on what happened there. Unfortunately they are not the first or last guys that do this sort of thing. Incidentally John Bond - Alan's eldest son IIRC has a white 246GTS that very rarely sees the light of day...
U talking about a divs. of Multiplex? "Multiplex Development and Opportunity Fund" They are offering insane amount of interest [15%] on its mezzanine financed projects. The really strange thing is Lonsec, Aegis & PIR have all recommended it. I see it as a huge risk, *might* be ok, but not for me, find other ways to have my balls crushed! Ciao M
Yeah, except that a lot of these "mum & dads" were put onto it by their accountant / 'financial advisor'. Where the hell do the ordinary folk go for good advice? I've been trying to find a good independant advisor for ages and have given up and just follow my own instincts (lucky I grew up dirt poor so I'm happy to get by on a pittance). It's not always get-rich-quick folk hurt here. An example: what does an old age pensioner who sells their (very) modest home for $400,000 and buys a unit in a retirement village for $270k do with the $130,000 left over?
A cheap 550 and still have enough $$ left for a nice pink perm every week for a couple of years....then go naturally grey with the 550

That's an excellent idea! I'll suggest it and then being the nice neighbour I am offer to look after it for them! (After giving the "You know these things have to be driven every day to keep themin top condition" chat)

UIF [Useless Information File] Speaking of real estate..... Have to say i recon i found the best auctioneer in action i have ever seen. Guy from Wilson Pride by the name of Tony.He is very very good, see i have a heart, giving credit to those used-house/scum sellers....should be a actor BUT....Failed @ the auction, 1.95M, they *want* 2.1M. He does not know it, but he will be doing my house! Ciao M
