Eight months ago I was diagnosed with Radial Tunnel Syndrome in my right elbow which is nerve damage. I am looking into alternative methods to relieve the pain in my elbow. I have already done extensive physical therapy and had 1 cortisone shot. I understand acupuncture works on muscle/nerve injuries and was curious to see how many people have had it done.

    Thanks for the help.

I had acupuncture when I was oh, 12-13 years old for Nerve Deafness affecting both (dare I say it) ears. Incidentally, hearing test results were up 1% and 2% for right and left, respectively. When you're profoundly deaf, 1-2% is the world. 60 mile commute each way was necessary to do this, but living in world's foggiest region in our um, acupunctural off-season, coupled with scholastics & all that and no doubt, though not discussed (at least I didn't hear anything *snicker*), economics probably put an end to that. This was in '72-'74.

For more obvious results, go to an acupuncturist when you catch a cold/flu.

    Instant cure.

Well I used to have avery good accupuncturist that worked in my office and when people failed Chiropractic, Physical therapy and medical intervention we would give it a try. I did see many people that I thought there was no hope for and they got better with accupuncture. It's been around for about 4500 years longer than western medicine so you can't discount that.

Acupuncture actually works, in my line of work, many of my fighters get banged up and bruised badly to the point they can't walk. I bring them to the acupuncturist and after a treatment, they can go back to training. But you need to find a good one.

Too many new people are doing it now to cash in. My advice is to find an Asian doctor. I wouldn't trust some white dude saying he has studied Asian medicine with somebody from brooklyn.

I don't know why it worked, but it cured my daughter of shin splints. Her shin Splints were so bad, she was put into casts for 5 weeks. As soon as she began playing again, the shin splints came back. The Tech doctors did every test and treatment they could think of. They tested her for compartment syndrome (very painful) and did bone scans for micro fractures. All came back negative. She was close to retiring from soccer because the pain was unbearable.

Here is the article in the University Daily about her treatment.

She still gets treatment when she returns home from school. She doesn't get the same results from the acupuncturist in Georgia that she does here. She still has some pain late in the season. But it is manageable with ice and whirlpool treatments.

    good luck.

I've been thinking about talking to someone about it for Migraine. I'm tired of taking meds everyday for it.

Acupuncture does really work. BUT please find acupuncturist w/ caution. Spots (tsubo) needle goes differs slightly depending on people. Good Acupuncturist can tell by touching & pushing your skin w/ their fingers. Wrong spot could cause different problem.

Acupuncture works to get rid of most pains. I don't know the logic behind it. What I heard/read were acupuncture speed up/boost healing power, or just blocks cause of pain so you just don't feel it but the problem is still there. All I know is it worked on my back pain (I was on bed for 2 days, but after acupuncture, I could play golf next day), and tennis elbow.

Some female friends goes acupuncture every months when they have womanhood visitor to avoid pain.

    What?

Oh, I see - yes, 85% deaf on a good day. My absolutely beeee-yootiful gal wears contacts or glasses, so our upcoming marriage is near as heaven-sent as can be, after all, the ideal marriage is between a deaf man and a blind woman.

Well I must say reading peoples results has really made me feel there is light at the end of the tunnel. I am still young (32) and very active especially golf. I am playing next weekend for the 1st time in 8 mths and I can guarantee I will be slightly hurting after I am done. The only reason I am so adiment about playing is I am going to GA for The Masters next weekend so I HAVE to play :).

    MUCH thanks guys!

    Michael
